How to get Google Workspace invoices and Google Play receipts
Where to download Google Workspace invoices and payment receipts in the Admin console, how to find Google Play and Google One orders, what Google charges look like on your statement, and how to pull a full year.
Google bills you in more than one place. Google Workspace has its own billing in the Admin console, with monthly invoices. Google Play purchases and Google One plans bought from Google go through your Google payments profile instead. Here's where each one keeps its records, what to download for your books, and how to get a year's worth back.
Short answer Google Workspace: in the Google Admin console, go to Menu > Billing > Payment accounts, then View invoices next to your subscription. Download the PDF invoice, and print the payment receipt too, since US invoices don't show payments. Google Play: in the Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions > Budget & history. Google One and other Google purchases: go to payments.google.com and open Activity.
Google Workspace invoices
Where Google sends them
Google emails a PDF invoice at the start of each month for the previous month's activity. If you pay automatically by card or bank account, Google says the invoice is for information only and you don't need to do anything with it.
Each month's invoice is ready after the first day of the following month. The April invoice is ready after May 1, for example. The official PDF can take up to a week longer than the CSV version.
Downloading an invoice
You need the Billing management privilege in the Admin console.
- In the Google Admin console, go to Menu > Billing > Payment accounts.
- Next to your subscription, click View invoices. Your two most recent invoices are shown.
- Under Documents, click the invoice number for the format you want. PDF Invoice lets you Download it, or regenerate it with updated billing details. CSV Invoice downloads a spreadsheet version.
- For an older invoice, click the down arrow next to Calendar at the top right and pick a date range.
If you've changed your billing address, purchase order number or tax ID, the Regenerate invoice with updated information option reissues the PDF with the new details. It doesn't change payments or credits.
Print the payment receipt too
For US accounts, payments aren't shown on the invoice. The invoice says what you owed. The payment receipt shows you paid it. Keep both.
- Go to Menu > Billing > Payment accounts and click View invoices next to your subscription.
- Choose a date range from the menu at the top of the list.
- Find the payment and click its link in the Description column. A printable receipt opens. Print it or save it as a PDF.
What a Workspace invoice shows
The PDF shows the total for the billing period, the invoice number, your account name and billing ID. Each line lists the subscription, a description of the charge, the period it covers, the number of users or licenses and the amount before tax. Credits and refunds appear as Service adjustment lines with negative amounts.
If the same subscription appears more than once, something changed during the month. You may have added users, switched between the Flexible and Annual/Fixed-Term plans, or had a price change.
On your card statement, Workspace charges appear as GOOGLE WORKSPACE followed by the first seven letters of your domain name.
Exceptions
- Bought through a reseller? Get invoices from the reseller, not the Admin console.
- Invoiced (monthly bill) accounts use a different set of invoice pages in the Admin console.
- Signed up for Workspace on a phone? If you have no billing options in the Admin console, billing runs through Google Play (Android) or the Settings app (iOS). Your receipts come from Google Play or Apple instead.
- Cancelling? Google advises downloading your invoices and printing your payment receipts before you delete a paid subscription or your organization's account.
Google Play receipts
Where Google sends them
When you buy something on Google Play, Google emails a confirmation with your order information to the Google Account you used.
Finding a past order
- In the Play Store app: tap your profile icon at the top right, then Payments & subscriptions > Budget & history. Your app and digital content orders are listed there.
- On the web: go to play.google.com, click your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions > Budget & Order history.
- In your Google payments profile: go to payments.google.com. Activity lists individual orders, and Subscriptions & services lists your subscriptions. On a phone, open the menu at the top left first.
Google's help uses slightly different labels for the app and the website, so expect small differences between versions. Play's order history shows only Google Play orders. Other Google purchases and Google Pay transactions are in the payments center instead.
What Play charges look like
Google Play charges appear on your statement as GOOGLE * followed by the app developer's name, the app's name or the type of content, for example GOOGLE *Books. They usually show up within a few days of the order.
You may also see a pending GOOGLE *TEMPORARY HOLD. That's a check that your card is valid, not a charge. Google says authorizations can stay on your account for 1 to 14 business days depending on your bank.
Google One
Google One storage plans bought directly from Google are in your Google payments profile:
- Transactions: go to payments.google.com, click Activity and select a transaction for details.
- The subscription itself: go to payments.google.com, click Subscriptions & services, find Google One and click Manage.
On a card statement, Google One shows up as GOOGLE* Google Storage.
Where you subscribed matters. If you signed up for Google One on an iPhone through the App Store, Apple bills you and the receipt comes from Apple. If you got it through a phone carrier or another partner, that company bills you. Google's help points you to those companies for cancellations and refunds.
Getting a whole year of Google receipts
Workspace is the easy one:
- Open View invoices in the Admin console and set the date range to This year, Previous year or a custom range.
- Download each month's PDF invoice.
- Click Download at the top right of the transaction list to get a CSV of every charge and payment in that range. That's a ready-made summary for your accountant.
For Google Play and Google One, Google's help doesn't describe a bulk receipt download. Use Activity at payments.google.com as your checklist, and pull the receipts from your email. In Gmail, from:google.com "Google Play" (receipt OR order) after:2025/01/01 before:2026/01/01 is a starting point. For Workspace invoice emails, try from:google.com "Google Workspace" invoice after:2025/01/01 before:2026/01/01. Sender addresses vary, so widen the search if something's missing. More Gmail searches for receipts.
Keeping Google receipts tax-ready
- Keep Workspace on its own payment method. It's a business expense, and a separate card makes it obvious on statements.
- Keep the invoice and the payment receipt. A US Workspace invoice alone doesn't show that you paid.
- Separate personal and work Google Accounts. Play purchases and Google One plans follow the account that bought them. Business apps bought on a personal account are easy to miss.
- Download invoices before you cancel or downgrade. It's easier than getting them back later.
Doing it with What Receipt?
Workspace invoices and Google Play receipts arrive by email, so connecting Gmail to What Receipt? (Pro) brings them in automatically. Each one is read for vendor, date, total and tax and filed with your other receipts. Import a past year catches up a whole tax year at once. You can also drop downloaded invoice PDFs straight into the app.
Google bills are mostly subscriptions, which is where Pro's recurring-charge detection helps. It spots regular charges like your monthly Workspace invoice or a Google One plan, and alerts you when one goes missing. That's often the first sign of a declined card or an invoice that went to a different inbox.
